Yields: 2 servings
Prep Time: 5-10 minutes
Blend Time: 1 minute
Ingredients:
- 1 cup frozen strawberries: Frozen strawberries make this drink thick and icy without diluting the flavor.
- 2 ripe kiwis: Peeled and sliced.
- 1 cup yogurt: Use plain, vanilla, or Greek yogurt depending on your sweetness preference.
- 1/2 cup milk: Any milk will work, including cow’s milk or plant-based alternatives (almond, soy, oat).
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup: Optional, for additional sweetness
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (Optional, but adds a lovely touch)
Equipment:
- Blender
- Two tall glasses
Instructions:
- Prep the Fruit: Peel and slice your kiwis. If you don’t have frozen strawberries, wash, hull, and slice or quarter fresh ones.
- Combine Ingredients: Add the strawberries, kiwi slices, yogurt, milk, honey/maple syrup (if using), and vanilla extract (if using) directly to your blender.
- Blend It Up: Blend on high speed until completely smooth and creamy. This should take about a minute or less depending on the power of your blender.
- Adjust Consistency (if needed): If you find the drink too thick, add a splash more milk and blend again. If it’s too thin, add a few more strawberries or a bit more yogurt.
- Serve & Enjoy: Pour into two glasses and enjoy immediately!
Tips:
- Make it Vegan: Use plant-based yogurt and milk (and maple syrup instead of honey).
- Add a Boost: Throw in a small handful of spinach or kale for extra nutrients.
- Garnish: Get fancy with a slice of kiwi or a strawberry on the rim of your glass.
