- Store in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 days) for optimal flavor.
2. Assemble the Cocktails:
- Fill your cocktail shaker with ice.
- Add vodka, lime juice, simple syrup, grated ginger, and 3/4 cup of the strawberry-basil puree.
- Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until well chilled.
- Fill two serving glasses with ice.
- Strain the cocktail mixture evenly into the glasses.
- Top each glass with ginger beer or ginger ale.
3. Garnish and Serve:
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves and sliced strawberries.
- Enjoy immediately!
Tips:
- Adjust Sweetness: Taste the cocktail before adding ginger beer and add more simple syrup if needed.
- Spice It Up: For a spicier cocktail, use a higher-quality ginger beer with a stronger ginger flavor.
- Make-Ahead: The strawberry-basil puree can be prepared several days in advance for convenience.
- Non-Alcoholic Option: Substitute the vodka or gin with sparkling water or club soda for a delightful mocktail.
