Sandcastle Brownie Mix Recipe

Ingredients:

Dry Mix:

  • ⅓ cup chopped walnuts
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ⅓ cup flaked coconut (optional)
  • ⅔ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

Wet Ingredients (to bake brownies):

  • 2 large eggs
  • ⅔ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

Prepare the Dry Mix:

  • In a clean 1-quart glass jar, layer the dry ingredients in the order listed.
  • Be sure to pack down each layer gently to maximize space in the jar.
  • Chopped walnuts
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Flaked coconut (if using)
  • Packed brown sugar
  • Granulated sugar
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • All-purpose flour

Seal and Store:

  • Tightly seal the jar with a lid.
  • Store the jar in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.

Baking Instructions:

Preheat the Oven:

  • When you’re ready to bake brownies, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).

Prepare the Wet Ingredients:

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Assemble the Brownie Batter:

  • Add the dry brownie mix from the jar to the wet ingredients in the bowl.
  • Stir with a spoon or spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Bake the Brownies:

  • Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.

Bake Time:

  • A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean or with moist crumbs when the brownies are done.
