This recipe combines the rich, fudgy goodness of brownies with the fluffy texture of cake, resulting in a decadent and crowd-pleasing dessert. It’s also super simple to make, requiring minimal effort for a delicious outcome.
Ingredients:
Cake Batter:
- 1 box (15.25 ounces) chocolate cake mix
- 1 box (18.3 ounces) fudge brownie mix
- 4 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 ¼ cups water, at room temperature
- 1 cup (2 sticks) vegetable oil
- Optional Frosting (can be served warm or at room temperature):
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Pan:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease a 10-inch Bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Combine Dry Ingredients:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the chocolate cake mix and the fudge brownie mix.
Add Wet Ingredients:
- Add the room temperature eggs, water, and vegetable oil to the dry mix.
- Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat the mixture for 2 minutes, or until most of the lumps are gone.
- Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to ensure even mixing.
Bake the Cake:
- Pour the batter into your prepared Bundt pan.
- Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs but no wet batter.
Cool the Cake:
- Take the cake out of the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
- Afterward, carefully invert the cake onto a wire rack to cool completely for about 30 more minutes.
Prepare the Frosting (Optional):
- In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Sift in the unsweetened cocoa powder and mix until incorporated.
- Pour in the milk and vanilla extract and beat until you reach a smooth and spreadable consistency. You can adjust the amount of milk depending on how thick you want your frosting.
Frost the Cake (Optional):
- Once the cake is completely cool, spread the frosting over the top and sides.
Serve and Enjoy!
- Slice and serve your delicious chocolate brownie cake.
- You can enjoy it warm with the frosting slightly melted, or at room temperature.
Tips:
- For an extra decadent touch, you can sprinkle some chopped nuts or chocolate chips over the batter before baking.
- If you don’t have a Bundt pan, you can also use a 9×13 inch baking pan. The baking time might need slight adjustments, so start checking the cake for doneness at around 30 minutes.
- This cake is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored at room temperature under an airtight container for up to 3 days.
