Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bites Recipe

Yields: About 20-24 bites
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Chill Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or your favorite kind)

Instructions

1. Cream the butter and sugars: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together with an electric mixer until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).

2. Add the egg and vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

3. Whisk dry ingredients: In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

4. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

5. Fold in the chocolate chips: Gently fold in the chocolate chips.

6. Chill the dough: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This step is crucial for preventing the bites from spreading too much!

7. Preheat oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

8. Shape the bites: Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each ball.

9. Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown. The centers will still look a bit soft.

10. Cool: Let the cookie dough bites cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips

To enhance the chewiness: Add an extra tablespoon of brown sugar for a touch more moisture.

Experiment with flavors: Try adding chopped nuts, other chocolate varieties (white, milk, dark), peanut butter chips, or sprinkles!

Storage: Store the cookie dough bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or freeze for longer storage.

Enjoy your delicious, chewy chocolate chip cookie dough bites!
