Yields: 1 serving
Prep time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz (45 ml) vodka: (You can substitute with tequila for a Tequila Sunrise)
- 3 oz (90 ml) freshly squeezed orange juice: Provides vibrant flavor and vitamin C
- 1 oz (30 ml) unsweetened cranberry juice: Adds a touch of tartness and beautiful color
- 1/2 oz (15 ml) freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/2 tsp agave nectar (or sweetener of choice): For a touch of sweetness
- Ice cubes
- Orange slice and/or a maraschino cherry for garnish (optional)
Equipment and Utensils
- Cocktail shaker
- Tall glass (highball or hurricane glass)
Instructions
1. Prepare your glass: Fill your tall glass with ice cubes.
2. Combine ingredients in the shaker: Add vodka, orange juice, cranberry juice, lime juice and agave nectar (or your chosen sweetener) to the cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker halfway with ice.
3. Shake it up: Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. This helps chill and mix the drink thoroughly.
4. Build your sunrise: Strain the mixture into the prepared glass over the ice.
5. Garnish and enjoy! Add an orange slice and/or a cherry for the classic look. Serve immediately.
Tips
Fresh is best: Always opt for freshly squeezed orange and lime juice for the best flavor.
Customize your sweetness: Adjust the amount of agave nectar (or sweetener) to match your preference.
Make it a mocktail: Skip the alcohol and enjoy the same refreshing flavors.
Make it a big batch: Easily increase the ingredient quantities to serve a crowd.
