Ingredients:
For the Filling:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 (15oz) can corn, drained
- 1 (15oz) can green beans, drained
- 1 cup sour cream
Topping:
- 1 bag (32oz) frozen tater tots
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a large oven-safe skillet or a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Cook the Beef: Heat your skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion and cook until the beef is browned and the onion is softened, about 5-7 minutes. Drain off any excess grease if needed.
- Season and Simmer: Add the garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Stir well and let simmer for 1-2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Add Veggies and Sour Cream: Stir in the drained corn, green beans, and sour cream. Combine everything thoroughly.
- Layer Tater Tots and Cheese: Spread the beef mixture evenly in your prepared skillet or baking dish. Top with an even layer of frozen tater tots followed by the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through, the tater tots are golden brown, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let Rest and Serve: Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. This allows it to set slightly for easier slicing.
Tips:
- Mix It Up: Easily add mushrooms, bell peppers, or your favorite veggies to the filling.
- Cheese Please! Use your favorite cheese variety or a combination of cheeses for different flavors.
- Spice It Up: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little kick.
