Yields: About 6 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes + chilling time
Ingredients
Rosé Wine: 1 bottle (750ml) of your favorite dry rosé
Brandy: 1/2 cup
Fruit:
- 1 orange, sliced into thin wheels
- 1 lemon, sliced into thin wheels
- 1 cup strawberries, hulled and halved
- 1 cup raspberries
Orange Liqueur: 1/4 cup (like Cointreau or Grand Marnier)
Sweetener: 1-2 tablespoons honey or simple syrup (adjust to taste)
Sparkling Water or Soda: 1 cup, chilled (can use lemon-lime soda as well)
Secret Ingredient: 1/4 cup St. Germain elderflower liqueur
Instructions:
- Combine the base: In a large pitcher, combine the rosé wine, brandy, orange liqueur, and your sweetener of choice.
- Add the fruit: Gently mix in the orange slices, lemon slices, strawberries, and raspberries.
- Chill: Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to blend.
- The secret touch: Just before serving, stir in the St. Germain elderflower liqueur. This adds a beautiful floral note that makes this sangria special.
- Top it off: Add the chilled sparkling water or soda to the pitcher.
- Serve: Pour the sangria over ice-filled glasses. Garnish with additional fruit slices if desired.
Tips:
- Choose the right rosé: A dry, crisp rosé works best. Look for varieties from France (Provence), Spain, or California.
- Customize the fruit: Use any seasonal fruits you enjoy. Peaches, plums, blueberries, and blackberries are all delicious additions.
- Adjust the sweetness: Add more or less sweetener depending on your preference and the sweetness of your rosé wine.
- Make ahead: This sangria tastes even better when the flavors have had time to meld. You can make it up to a day in advance.
