Yields: 2-3 servings
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 15-20 minutes
Ingredients
- 12 ounces pasta of your choice: Penne, rigatoni, farfalle, or rotini are excellent options.
- 1 (15oz) jar marinara sauce: Use your favorite brand!
- 1 (15oz) jar Alfredo sauce: Your preferred brand, store-bought is perfectly fine.
- Optional Garnishes: Grated parmesan cheese, fresh basil
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add your chosen pasta and cook according to package directions for al dente (slightly firm to the bite). Reserve a cup of pasta water before draining
- Make the pink sauce: While the pasta cooks, combine equal parts marinara sauce and Alfredo sauce in a large skillet or pot over medium-low heat. Stir until well combined.
- Simmer: Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes to thicken slightly and warm through.
- Combine: Add the drained pasta to the pink sauce. Toss to coat thoroughly, adding a splash of the reserved pasta water if the sauce seems too thick.
- Garnish and serve: Divide the pasta between bowls. Top with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and chopped basil, if desired. Enjoy immediately!
Tips
- Customize it!: Add a kick of spice with red pepper flakes or saute some garlic and onions with a bit of butter before adding the sauces.
- Protein power: Stir in cooked chicken, shrimp, or Italian sausage for a heartier meal.
- Leftovers: Store leftover pink sauce pasta in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
