Yields: 12 deviled egg halves
Prep time: 15 minutes
Chill time: Optional (at least 30 minutes recommended)
Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
- 1/4 cup ranch dressing
- 3 tablespoons buffalo wing sauce (adjust to your preferred heat level)
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra kick)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Garnishes: chopped green onions, crumbled blue cheese, extra buffalo sauce (all optional)
Instructions
1. Hard-boil the Eggs
- Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water by about an inch.
- Bring the water to a rapid boil over high heat.
- Once boiling, immediately cover the pot, turn off the heat, and let the eggs sit undisturbed for 12 minutes.
- Carefully drain the hot water and immerse the eggs in an ice bath to stop the cooking process and for easier peeling.
2. Peel and Prepare the Eggs
- Once cool, gently crack and peel the eggshells.
- Carefully slice the eggs in half lengthwise.
- Gently scoop out the yolks into a medium bowl.
3. Make the Filling
- Mash the egg yolks with a fork until smooth.
- Add ranch dressing, buffalo wing sauce, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir until well combined and creamy.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
4. Fill the Eggs (you have two options)
- Spooning: Use a small spoon to carefully fill each egg white with the yolk mixture.
- Piping: Transfer the yolk mixture into a resealable plastic bag or a piping bag with a star tip. Cut a small corner off the bag and pipe the filling into the egg whites for a more decorative touch.
5. Garnish and Chill (optional)
- Sprinkle with chopped green onions, crumbled blue cheese, or drizzle with additional buffalo sauce (if desired).
- For the best flavor and texture, cover and refrigerate the deviled eggs for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Tips
Adjust the spice: Control the heat level by using less or more buffalo sauce.
Make it creamy: For an even creamier filling, add a tablespoon or two of mayonnaise.
Get creative with garnishes: Diced celery, bacon bits, or a sprinkle of paprika are also delicious additions.
