Ingredients
For the Salad:
- 1 lb ground beef (lean recommended)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 6 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- ½ cup diced dill pickles
- ¼ cup diced onion (red or white)
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
For the Big Mac Dressing:
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup French dressing
- 2 tbsp sweet pickle relish
- 1 tbsp finely diced onion (red or white)
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp yellow mustard
- ½ tsp paprika
Instructions:
Make the Dressing:
- In a small bowl, whisk together all the ingredients for the Big Mac dressing.
- Taste and adjust seasonings (sweetness, tang, etc.) as needed.
- Refrigerate until ready to use.
Cook the Beef:
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Once browned, add Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using). Cook for another minute.
- Remove from heat and drain any excess grease. Set aside to cool slightly.
Assemble the Salad:
- In a large salad bowl, combine the shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese, dill pickles, and diced onion.
- Add the cooled ground beef to the salad bowl.
Dress and Serve:
- Drizzle the Big Mac dressing over the salad and toss to coat evenly.
- Garnish with sesame seeds for that classic Big Mac touch.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Tips:
- Lettuce choice: Iceberg lettuce is traditional, but romaine or other sturdy greens work well too.
- Make-ahead: You can prepare the dressing and cook the beef ahead of time for quick assembly later.
- Customization: Add other Big Mac toppings like chopped tomatoes or increase your favorite ingredients.
- Serving size: This recipe makes about 4 servings.
