Ingredients
Fruit Base
- 1 cup mixed frozen berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries)
- 1/2 cup frozen or fresh banana (adds creaminess)
Liquid
- 1 cup milk of your choice (almond, oat, dairy, etc.)
- 1/2 cup yogurt (plain or vanilla, Greek or regular)
Flavor Boosters (Optional)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (for sweetness)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds, flax seeds, or hemp seeds (for healthy fats)
- A scoop of protein powder (for an extra boost)
Instructions
1. Gather your ingredients: Measure out all your ingredients and have them ready next to your blender.
2. Combine: Add all ingredients to a high-powered blender.
3. Blend!: Start on a low speed, then gradually increase to high and blend until completely smooth (around 30-60 seconds). If consistency is too thick, add a bit more of your chosen milk.
4. Adjust: Taste and adjust as needed. If it needs more sweetness, add a bit more honey/maple syrup. If you want a stronger berry flavor, add a handful of extra berries.
5. Serve & Enjoy: Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately!
Tips
No frozen banana? No problem! The smoothie will still be delicious, just a little less creamy. You can add a splash of extra milk or a dollop of yogurt to get your desired consistency.
Customizable: This is a base recipe, so get creative! Throw in a handful of spinach or kale, a scoop of peanut butter, or some oats for added nutrients.
Make it ahead: Prepare smoothie packs by freezing pre-portioned fruit and other dry ingredients in freezer bags. When ready, dump the bag contents into the blender with your liquids and blend!
