Yields: Depends on number of sausages
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10-14 minutes
Ingredients:
- Your favorite sausages (pork, chicken, vegetarian options work too!)
- 1 teaspoon olive oil (optional)
Equipment:
- Air fryer
- Tongs
Instructions:
Preheat:
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Prep the sausages (optional):
- For extra browning and a little crisp, lightly brush the sausages with olive oil.
- For traditional cooking, you can skip the oil.
Prick the raw sausages (if applicable):
- If you’re using raw sausages, poke a few holes in the casings using a fork or knife.
- This prevents them from bursting in the air fryer.
- Skip this step if using pre-cooked sausages.
Place in the air fryer:
- Add the sausages to the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Ensure they aren’t overcrowded for even cooking.
Air fry:
- Raw sausages: Cook for 10-14 minutes, flipping halfway through. They’re done when they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) and are nicely browned.
- Pre-cooked sausages: Cook for 5-7 minutes or until heated through and browned to your liking.
Serve:
- Remove sausages carefully with tongs and enjoy immediately with your favorite sides.
Tips:
- Type matters: Cooking times may vary based on the size and type of sausage you’re using. Thicker sausages and raw sausages will need slightly longer.
- Shake it up: Around the halfway mark, you can give the air fryer basket a good shake to help with even browning.
- Flavor variations: Try tossing your sausages with your favorite seasonings or a bit of sauce before air frying.
- No poking pre-cooked: Skip pricking any pre-cooked sausage varieties!
Serving Suggestions:
- Serve with mustard, ketchup, or your favorite dipping sauces.
- Enjoy with a side of roasted vegetables.
- Make a classic sausage and mash.
- Put them in a bun for an easy hot dog style meal.
